A OneFPA Conversation with Debbie Freeman, CFP®, CPA, CDFA of FPA of Colorado
By FPA Communications
Debbie Freeman, CFP®, CPA, CDFA, is like any other FPA chapter president. She is always thinking about how her chapter—and FPA as a whole—can drive value in membership, provide meaningful programs, not burn out volunteer leaders and ensure her chapter executive, Leslie Shivers, is supported. But as the president of an FPA chapter participating in the OneFPA Network beta-test, she went into the process also thinking about the time her board and chapter executive would have to invest in the beta-test and whether or not the time spent would result in an ROI.
Just six months into the beta-test, Debbie has already seen some positive traction for her chapter. The increased idea sharing, the collaboration between Leslie (the chapter executive) and staff at the central office, improved technology, and more have benefited the chapter. Still, she is concerned with overall member and partner engagement at the chapter. She is hopeful the beta-test will provide some meaningful opportunities in that regard for the rest of the year.
